Just got a PM7 which has only be used for one tournament, and i encountered a problem.
after some dry firing, i noticed that the bolt doesnt travel all the way back. i confirmed this again when trying with paint. 1st shot was fine, 2nd shot onwards, the ball just drop over the bolt and it just shoots down.
open up the board settings and found out the dwell was adjusted to 16, and i reset it back to 18. and i still have that problem.
My suspicion is that the new bottle regulator (no brand, from taiwan) that i just got. It probably didnt recharge fast enough. could that be a problem?
i'll be trying a different bottle regulator in a few days time. meanwhile, if you guys have any suggestions on how to fix this, i appreciate it alot. thanks.
ok, sounds like 2 different issues.
1) the bolt is not going into the "rest" position all the way. That would cause feeding problems and possible ball breaks in the breech.
2) You are having shootdown problems.
Answers:
1) if the bolt is not returning all the way, then it's possible that something is in the way. Check all the bolt o-rings for damage, and look in the back of the tophat to make sure that no one put an o-ring inside there. That used to be an old fix for the Airtech/GEN-E/DM3 return. Drop a #14 ( in this case, it's probably larger) and the bolt return would be cushioned by the o-ring. Take it out. The M7 or any of the fuse bolts don't need that extra cushioning.
If that's not the case look for anything else that might be stopping the bolt a little early. (like a broken o-ring floating around in the beercan or backcap sections.
2) When attaching the tank, give it 1/2 a turn after you hear the air rush into the marker. test. If the shoot-down problem disappears, then the ASA (do you have the one with the on/off knob?) is depressing the tank pin too much when screwed all the way in, actually restricting the airflow from the tank.

Thanks Hawk. i'll try it out both later. I have the stock twist knob ASA.

i tried screwing the air knob about halfway after the air rushed in, and it seems to be shooting fine (dry firing).the bolt did returned. i played with a few twist, the bolts starts to move slowly back. i can see that from the back of the rear cap. the rear cap is clean, the o-rings seems good.
what else could be the problem? LPR? or do i need to replace all the o-rings in the top hat? bolt?

How did you fix it because I have the same issue?
I believe that he found that the LPR was too low.

Thanks guys.
I had set everything to default before I played but was experiencing the same issue.
LPR - 5 turns out
HPR - 3 turns out then adjusted for 280FPS
In addition, I had replaced the 017 O-rings in the Beer can & Top Hat with 017 BN O-rings before going out to the pb field. I also used Hater Sauce V2 to lube all O-rings.

The time has come for me to bid farewell to the Matrix and Proto family. I've owned a PM5 & a PM7 (which still serves me very well) and moved on to MacDev.
My new team is shooting a mixture of 07 Cyborgs and Droids. I'll be shooting a Droid!
Thanks MO.com. You guys have been very helpful, buckeye, etc..
Now the PM7 has a new owner will continue to serve its master.
