is since i put windows vista on my new laptop, i have gotten seroous lag when i play WOW. The only way to get rid of Windows Vista is go install Windows XP, but i dont have Windows Xp i never got the program it just was installeed on my laptop.

Very frustrated need help!!!!:evil:

OK so is this what happened?
-you have a laptop running Windows XP
-You upgrade the XP to Vista
-Now your WOW game is lagging?

Have you tried to play anything else on the computer or multitask it? IS it just with WOW or is it always lagging? Have you tried to benchtest the processor and memory to see what they are running at?

It's called using Vista and the piece of garbage that it is. It's well known, that game performance under Vista, compared to XP is significantly lower in both DX9 and DX10.

Im gonna have to agree. Vista is absolute crap right now. Give it a couple years to get all the bugs worked out but right now its garbage. I refuse to even touch it. Sounds like a driver conflict. You may be able to find different drivers and it may help the problem a little bit but probably not. Especially if Vista has the problems with DirectX like posted above....

well i guess the only thing i could do is buy xp which is at least $100
and install it then
god this makes me mad
vista was the worst thing that happened to my laptop:evil:

sometimes i hear of ppl who have wow and and vista and they get no lag or very little

check out www.newegg.com

they have oem copies of xp pro with product keys for about 160.00.. better than the 300 bucks that best buy wants....

When you originally bought your laptop. If it came preinstalled with XP then it would have came with reinstallation discs.

Then you need to contact the manufacturer of your laptop or the place of purchase. Get the reinstallation media, they ALL come with it.
