PRESS RELEASE:
Dye Precision Incorporated Signs Professional Paintball Player Chris LaSoya to Multi-Year Endorsement Agreement
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

San Diego, California (September 29, 2006) - Dye Precision Inc., today announced the signing of professional paintball player Chris LaSoya to a multi-year endorsement agreement.
Terms of the agreement call for LaSoya, the number two ranked player in the world and multi tournament winning champion to use Dye Matrix markers, Dye Barrels and Dye casual wear as well as consult in future marker product development.
“Dye has always been at the front of the pack with setting standards for paintball products. I am not only happy but very proud as well to be a part of the Dye group once again. Dye helped me in the beginning of my career and I only hope that I can give back as much as they have given me. As I’ve gone through many years in this sport, there has always been one thing that has remained, my relationship with Dye. To be the best you need the best and I look forward to many successful years shooting the best marker on the market”, said LaSoya
“Chris was part of the Dye family early in his rise to the top of the paintball world. It is great to have him back with us, representing our products and promoting paintball at every level. He is not only one of the best players out there, but truly a recognizable and approachable superstar in our sport. Chris’s style of play and commitment to excellence are aspects that we look for in a professional player. We couldn’t be happier to sign a long-term agreement that will see Chris shooting our markers through the rest of his playing career”, said Dave Youngblood, CEO of Dye Precision Incorporated.
LaSoya will continue to play with the World Championship Team, Baltimore Trauma as well as travel worldwide as an ambassador of the sport.

Fine by me as long as the matrix keeps getting better!

Can you imagine growing up and learning about Dave Youngblood in world history class?

Bummer. I like Lang, but I don't think Lasoya is a good role model for young players. I guess he's good for business though.

If you've ever met Chris off the field, you'd think differently. Is is by far one of the most approachable Pro's around.

The fact that he is intense on the field is a by product of the sport we love. No matter how you look at it, we run around shooting at one another. If that doesn't get your adreneline (sp?) going nothing will.

I was able to talk with Chris for a few minutes at Denver NPPL 2004 and he was cool easy to approach.

At Malaysia (Oct '05), I talked with Alex, Yosh and Ollie for a bit and all were easily approachable.

Uh, I have to dissagree, that would be Smart Parts. Where DYE is getting individuals, Smart Parts is getting whole championship teams. Look at the list, Russian Leagon, Dynasty, Naughty Dogs, Philly Americans just to name a few under the Smart Parts name. DYE now has 2 big name players, but have yet to get the Ironmen to the level of recognition (recently that is) of those teams. Even though I'm shooting Shockers, and I prefer the equipment that Smart Parts makes, I'd still love to see the Iron Men come back to be the best, just like they were when I was a young 'baller and idolized Dave along with those I played with.

Here is the thing with this one, at least in my opinion. Lang is the "pretty-boy" immage of paintball. He's immage is the kinda guy a gal wants to take home to mom and dad. Lasoya on the other hand, he's got the bad-boy immage. The kinda guy chicks love but would never take home to meet the parrents. Basically the combo of the two under the DYE name is covering almost all of the market. Some guys wanna be like Lang's immage, others wanna be like Lasoya's, the girls love both because that's just how girls are, wanting the best of both worlds. Sound marketing if you ask me. Not to mention if Dave would bring Lasoya to the Ironmen next season, that would be another player for teams to worry about.

The trick is for both Lasoya and Lang to have an on-field chemistry together. Reason it's taking the Ironmen so long to get to where they are back to is that Lang never really had another big-name player on his side that would force the other team to split their attention on. Bring Lasoya to the Ironmen and they both have another big name star that other teams need to worry about and it will free eachother up to do even more dammage.
